Light, Time & Facades - Catholic Church, Innisfail Qld (31.10.2007)

Light, Time & Facades, Innisfail (Photo Series)
Beautifully aglow.
Still undergoing major restoration repairs after Cyclone Larry’s visit the early morning of March 20, 2006, this was the first time that Our Lady of Good Counsel, an historical Gothic architecture style church (known as and located in Rankin Street & corner of Grace Street, Innisfail, Far North Queensland) had all its lights switched on during the night time. Special clear glass has been put in the arched windows but many still await design/manufacture resolution for stain glass decoration features.

One of the horrific damages caused by the cyclone here was with the huge concrete cross that was on top of that roof at the far left end. It smashed through the roof and down on top of the marble alter and surrounds.

Above the towers there is the floating shape. A guardian angel?
